What is it?

Heya, about 7 months ago now I was gardening and was bitten by a strange insect. I then developed a circular rash on my face. This rash is on my cheek underneath both eyes with one bordering my nose and the others are on my forehead. None of them are itchy or scaly. I went to the doctor who said it was ringworm so I was given Daktacort, I used this for 3 weeks to no avail and then was put on itraconazole. The rash is still very much noticeable on my face but has spread to my neck, chest, back and one of my arms. I am now being treated with steroid creams which also don't seem to be helping. Does anyone know what this is? I am on the waiting list for a Dermatologist but I'm told it could be anytime as the waiting time is 19 weeks. Please help.

So sorry that the issue seems to be getting worse!  If you got the rash on your face from an insect bite, I don't think the cause was ring worm- it's usually caused by direct contact with a person (or animal) that has it.  It's possible that you are having a reaction to the medication on top of the initial cause.

Is there another dermatologist that you could reach out to or perhaps another doctor you would be able to go to get a second opinion?

Thank you for your reply. I thought this too. I do have a dog but I had him abut 5 months after the rash appeared on my  face but now its all over the top half of my body, my legs are spared lol. I have currently seen 3 different doctors, 1 gave me daktacort to use for two weeks, which I did but wasn't satisfied so saw another doctor who also said it does look fungal but asked if I moisturised as there was very little to no scale, I told him no just the cream and soap and water. Then he prescribed me Itraconazole for 15 days, they didn't help so I went and saw the 3rd doctor who prescribed me eumovate cream, dermol 500 and hydrocortisone. None of these medications are helping and more are appearing, its getting to me psychologically now too, I really don't want to leave the house anymore. As for the dermatologist, there is one sooner but its about 30 miles from my house and I  don't drive or know the area. I am at my wits end.
Oh how frustrating!  So sorry!  If you can, I'd encourage you to try that dermatologist that's 30 miles away, so you can get in sooner.  I know it's scary to drive to an area so far that you don't know- do you know anyone that could go with you?
