What is the rash on my arm?

For over 2 months I had an irritation on the inside of my upper arm. Then last month the irritation became a rash, which is now about 3inches x 2 inches. I have no other rashes. There are no obvious explanation for it. I am not allergic to anything unusual there and I ahven't been near any chemicals etc. I treated it with an antifungal for 2 weeks which had no affect. I went to medical practitioner who had no idea what it could be, but prescribed me with a steroid cream. If any one has some suggestions. I would be very grateful I have attached a photo.

Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated and your diagnosis sounds like a distinct correct possibility!

Well, this could most likely be a neurodermatitis which would respond to steroid creme but there is an outside chance of this being a 'Lyme rash' despite the absence of the bulls eye. Were you bitten by tick in woods?Think carefully.
Best wishes.
