Why do i have white particles fall off my scalp?

Good day all, my name's Valentine from Nigeria. So I've this concern for a year now. Whenever i scratch or brush my hair white flaky particles fall off and there are white patches on some areas of my head. In the mornings i notice there are sought of moulded particles on head and hair line which i have to choice but to scratch off, the result is a painful sensation all over my head. It's really embarrassing in public and generally. My doctor friend prescribed i use Selsun blue shampoo, I've tried that for months with absolutely no result at all. Please what do i do to cure this??

It sounds like you have dandruff- which the selsun blue shampoo should help, but sometimes it can be resistant to anti-dandruff shampoos for various reasons.  You could try some other brands (such as head and shoulders) or you could try some home remedies- lemon juice or apple cider vinegar.  If that doesn't work, you may want to head back to your doctor to see if the flakes are indications of another medical condition- it could be something like eczema.
