Was the skin itchy?  Did it peal at all?  Have you seen a doctor?  Sounds like maybe you have a callous over the area now- but if you can get to a doctor, it will help your peace of mind!

Nope, it never was itchy, and when I pick at it? i make it peel.. but if i leave it alone it never peels.. I'm just really scared because I know i have horrible hypochondria (I am self diagnosed but it's really obvious) so everything that happens to me.. I either think it's cancer- or that im gonna die
also it most likely isn't callous.. it isnt yellow or hard. my finger is like just very smooth but the same thickness as my finger skin? lol sorry I have a hard time explaining. but when you touch all of my other fingers they feel normal but my index finger oddly feels kinda smooth.
I'm sure it's not cancer, so don't worry about that!  Skin conditions just happen sometimes- I had some pealing skin on my hand years ago, and I cut down on my sugar intake- it went away, so it really could be anything from diet or any number of things- that don't mean a serious disease.  It certainly doesn't hurt to have a doctor take a look in order to calm your fears.
