Worried about herpes??

For months now I have been experiencing on and off red bumps on my vagina that are tender and sometimes alittle itchy. They atart out as a red tender raised bump that after a day or so come to a ***** head and if squeezed (which I know I shouldn't do) will pop and alot of thick pus comes out then blood and then it feels better and goes away shortly after. Sometimes they feel bigger under the skin then above, and sometimes they are more raised. They are not always in the same place and sometimes they are smaller and sometimes larger but they always come to a head and pop. A few times they have been on the inside but most times they are in the hair area. Most of the pain comes as it is coming to a head and once its popped the relief is immediate. I have looked at online pictures and it does not look like herpes to me but I don't know what else it could be. Whenever I think of going to a doctor by the time I get an appointment it's gone. It can take a day or two to come to a head. It's affecting my life alot considering I don't even know what it is but I feel dirty and shy away from relationships because I'm afraid I'll give something to someone. Does this sound like herpes?

OMG I have the same exact thing I'm 18 not sexually active but I have masturbated before and they come only on the hair area not any where else and they get really big and I have to pop it and watery puss comes out and then in a day or 2 it goes away but I only get 1 one time it came after I shaved and I been scared to shave since then. But I have had 2 before and I'm scared to go to the doctor because I'm shy about my body *that's why I'm not sexually active* and I seen herpes pictures read about them and everything and I have none of thoes symptoms except pain.. I dance so I always have muscle pains
CAN SOMEONE PLZ TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON ): I'M SCARED THAT I WON'T EVER BE ABLE TO HAVE KIDS OR EVEN EXPERIENCE SEX.! LOL

I want to know is it possible to have a test come back positive for both types of herpes virus and be mistaken by the antibodies of syphilis?

i have had similar symptoms...but have had them on my buttocks.

i have had only two outbreaks. the first, a month after unprotected sex, with only one raised, red, pimple looking, bump and the second, several months after with three similar small, raised, red, pimple looking, bumps. i was able to squeeze each one and a pus-like substance was released with a small amount of blood. but their location perplexed me...they were on my butt cheeks spread out and in no visible pattern or cluster.

i am worried because i have had unprotected (condom broke) sex with one partner and another with a one night stand. also my symptoms seemed to coincide with stressful times. i have had no other symptoms described by many "herpes" experts...but i am worried just the same.

It does not sound like herpes.  It sounds like blocked follicles you are aggravating by squeezing.  I advise you to leave any bumps alone, to apply bacitracin ointment twice a day, to photograph the bums when they are at their height, and to show either the bumps or the photo to a skin doctor.  You should not be putting your life on hold for this.

Best.

I forgot to add, you should have it examined by a derm or GP when the condition flares up to get a definitive diagnosis.  But again, herpes is probably not likely.

Thank you for the response but I had a few other comments. The things I get are usually raised, sometimes large and they are uncomfortable until it comes to a head and pops. Can a herpes sore be squeezed and pop with alot of puss in it? I never get clear fluid out of these. I get these pretty often also and from what I read on herpes you can have a few outbreaks a year and the longer you have it the less often you usually have them. Usually it's just one but a few times I had 2 at once. If it is the other thing you mentioned in your response what can be done to prevent these? Thanks again.

Your description sounds more like folliculitis rather than herpes.  Herpes usually starts out as a red bump, then appears as a clear, fluid filled blister "on the skin", not under, and then bursts.  It is a white, ***** spot for a day or two, then scabs and crusts up, then heals.  The condition is generally painful/itchy/uncomfortable.  So i wouldnt worry too much.  Good luck.

TO my knowledge, herpes does resemble a pimple at all, rather a water blister type of bump then a lesion which stays open for a day or two, then crusts over with a scab. Your description of a pimple like bump that can be popped and blood and puss comes out resembles folliculitis, which is quite common.  If a bump looks like a pimple, it is likely a pimple or folliculitis. It is caused by fungus or bacteria in addition to friction from clothing.  It is often likely to occur in the pubic region as well as other parts of the body.  You can get the condition from time to time, so if you get it once, you likely can get it again so no reason to think for that it could be herpes.

One way to help the folliculitis clear up is by using an over the counter anti-fungal cream such as lotrimin.  Or you could go to the derm or your GP and get a prescription for a mild antibiotic in addition to a stronger anti-fungal cream such as mentax.  That should do the trick.  Wait for the derm to give you more answers and solutions as im sure that he sees many cases of folliculitis in his practice.  Good luck!
