birthmark looking circles around pubic area

I recently noticed two small oval shaped rings on my inner leg near my pubic area that appear to look a lot like birthmarks.  But, they are more of a red color than a traditional birthmark may appear.  I don't know that I've ever noticed these before, so I don't know how long they've existed.  The skin almost appears to be more loose and wrinkled when I pull it tight near the area.  Any ideas?

Not really.  They could be inflamed pores, patches of eczema.  I don't know.  I suggest you ignore them for a month.  If they came recently, they may go away the same way as they came.  If they don't, you can show them to a doctor.

Best.

To me it sounds like ringworm (I just had this myself so that is why it's my first guess.) You could try an anti-fungal creme.if it's not gone in a week,I'd go to a dermatologist.

I appreciate your input and, after some additional online research, I think that you're correct.  I've never had jock itch/ringworm before so it kind of scared me when I noticed the small, light brown rings.  I have also been doing a lot of home improvement recently (painting, tile work, plumbing, etc) and I was basically wearing the same shorts for close to a week straight without washing them, as all they were doing is getting dirty and sweaty daily.

I also did a google search on "birthmark pubic" and, coincidentally, I saw that a guy had asked this same question, on this same forum, about a year or so ago.

I talked with my local pharmacist last night and he recommended some spray Lamisil so I'm going to begin the application process this evening.  It says that it is a once per day treatment.

Here's a quick question with regards to this topic- My girlfriend has recently had a yeast infection.  Could this have triggered my jock itch/ringworm?

Still looking forward to hearing what the good doctor has to say on the matter.

Wearing shorts for nearly a week is creating a breeding ground for fungus which is what ringworm is. The most warm environment will make fungus grow, not to mention encourage irritation. Best to change your shorts daily to clean ones and shower daily as well. Does not do much good to shower and then put on the same dirty shorts. This will help out  alot, along with the Lamisil which is good for ringworm. Apply it after showering, not before. Otherwise it will just wash off.

If they are a fungus, I would expect there to be several similar spots on the chest and back.  An antifungal cream couldn't hurt.
