Hello,
The commonest causes of such kind of blisters on face are contact dermatitis, bullous staph infection and herpes zoster. Herpes is caused by HSV. Pain, burning, tingling, or itching occurs at the infection site before the sores appear. Then clusters of blisters erupt which break down. You need to get some investigations like sample from the sores to identify the virus, culture analysis, Tzanck smear, antigen and antibody studies and blood sampling for antibody studies done to confirm the diagnosis. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Thank you very much for your help!
the blisters have now become large scabs and the skin is flaking and peeling. Last night, one of the scabs fell off on their own!! its now just a red, hopefully healing, spot. it looks a lot better! Since i have gotten these, i have been putting lots of neosporin on them, hoping it might help! i think it is :) I am still curious how i got them and what they are, so i should probably see a dermatologist soon, like you suggested. Thanks again!
