bruising on arm not caused by injury

I have several bruises on my arms in places that could not be easily injured. I haven't had any recent injuries, either. The bruises also look wierd. They look to be deeper than normal bruises and are somewhat red as well as black and blue.

Another site that I looked on only mentioned sun damage as another cause. I have not had much sun exposure, so it couldn't be that either.

It is really painful to the touch, and hurts somewhat even when I'm not touching it.

Does anyone know what it could be from? If so, what can I do for it?

You really should consider having a Dr take a look. Doesn't
sound like bruising. Sounds like you described an organ response
that causes under skin bleeding from vessels like perhaps a
form of vasculitis. This can also happen benign from certain
long term meds. Get a simple bloodtest of CBC/chempanel or
what Dr thinks is best. Some diuretics can do this too. May be
simple or serious. Wish you luck.

I agree,  go to the DR, and get checked and get a blood test...Bruising with out injury is a sign of something, not sure what, but I have heard it before..:
