chicken pox at late age

Firstly, one needs a little background information that will help convey my question. At the age of 27, I had contacted the chicken pox virus. I know now that i must have contracted the chicken pox from a girl friend, in fact, it was my only one. She was married and divorced and had two young children from her marriage. Otherwise, I don't see any other way that i could have gotten it.

I got these bumps on my face and top of the scalp. I let it persist for a few days before going to a dermatoligist. Doctor had confirmed chicken pox. Now, what he prescribed was a new medicine at the time. This was in 1986. The medicine had worked fast to rid of the infection and sores, but with scars.

What was the medicine? I have these little indentations on my skin now from where the sores were once on my skin.

Not only that, I have red discoloration on my face where some of the sores were. To describe it, there seems to be under the skin layer redish color.

Also, it seems that when I was infected the chicken pox, everything that i touched with my hands I would get a sore. I remember washing my hair. One uses the fingertips to wash the scalp. After the treatment with this medicine and healing, I have these ridges that goes in lines or groves on my scalp.

I would like to getvrid of these redish marks and groves or ridges(but no scarring there). Skin is perfectrly normal where the lined depressions are.

Can anything be done and if so to what degree?

thanks
steve

Hi i am a 27 year old guy,

Just diagnosed with Chicken Pox. Can anyone tell me of chances of becoming fatal as it came at later stages of my life.

Saw the statistics, 90% of the time it happens at the age group 4-15

Regards

Maninder

Concerning the round depressions or indentations scars, A TCA peel will help to create the new skin and even the skin or level the skin. I trust one must aplly the TCA only in the depressions.

What strength of TCA to level out the indentations of the scars? Anymore infomation is appreciated.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
These scars and indentations which have formed after chicken pox can take a long time to heal and fill in when collages in formed but sometimes it may take longer or less depending on the depth of the indentations and the response of the skin. If they persist then you can get collagen filling and laser resurfacing done.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
