Could be contact dermatits.  It's nothing to worry about and can hang around for a couple days or weeks.  Keep your appointment for July 1st, hopefully it's a dermatologist, as you want to be sure it's nothing more serious.  In the meantime, do not put any medicated lotions on it.  If you can, buy some oatmeal lotion and Pure Extra Virgin Coconut oil to apply topically.  The oatmeal lotion will give you some relief from the itching and all, and the coconut oil will actually help the healing process and will help fight the irritation.  I hope this helps you some!!!

Also, is this the first time?  If so, keep track of things that you may have had contact with that you don't normally.  If it comes back again in the future, maybe you will be able to tell what's causing the irritation to flare up.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Itchy skin that isn't accompanied by other obvious skin changes, such as a rash, is most often caused by dry skin (xerosis). Other conditions cause itchy skin as well. Skin conditions like psoriasis, dermatitis and hives, internal diseases like liver and kidney disorders, diabetes, iron deficiency anemia, irritation and allergic reactions to chemicals, wool, soaps, cosmetics and certain foods  can cause itchy skin.

You can apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area. Oral antihistamine, such as Benadryl can also be used. You should take a comfortably cool bath and wear smooth-textured cotton clothing. You should choose mild soaps without dyes or perfumes and use a mild, unscented laundry detergent when washing clothes, towels and bedding.

Pls take a second opinion from a dermatologist if the symptoms persist. He/She will start with the specific medications. If an internal disease is found, whether it's kidney disease, iron deficiency or a thyroid problem, treating that disease often relieves the itch.Lastly,Phototherapy can also be tried.

Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.

I am going through the same thing.  My neck directly under my chin is itching like crazy.  I don't really have a rash, but it just itches.  I wish I could offer you some help, I did however read something about using a mixture of 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar to 1/2 cup water and apply to the area several times a day.  I am going to try it.  Hopefully it will help.  I also took two benadryl last night before bed and slept very well for a change.
