dark circles

I am a woman in my early 50's and have been suffering from insomnia for the past several years. The result has been puffy skin and dark circles around my eyes. The over the counter treatments to reduce these blemishes haven't helped much. The problem has made me self-conscious and I have started to avoid any being seen in public simply to avoid anyone passing remarks on the dark circles. I am contemplating some sort of cosmetic surgery to redress the situation. Could you please recommend if there are any cosmetic procedures for this and their risks or side-effects, if any. Also, if you can give me an idea of how much such a procedure would cost, I shall be grateful.

Thank you for your assistance.

I am 26 and also had real bad dark circle under my eyes. This may seem like a strange suggestion, but try fasting. I fast at least once or twice a week. It helps to clean out your system of waste. I fast for religious reasons and noticed that this has helped tremediously with the dark circles. When you start getting physiologically uncomfortable (headache, burning in the stomach, hunger growl) then you know that your system is cleaning itself out. The headache usually results from toxins in your fat stores that are being released into the body. It is good to get rid of them. Also, this does not slow your metabolism as some say. I have actually lost weight and kept it off by doing this. Drink lots of water and take a Excederin if you get a headache. You will be surprised how much better you feel when you cut back the amount of food you eat and fast. Afterall, God (if you believe in him) would not ask you to do this if it was harmful to the body. He is the one that created the body and knows how to best care for it. Also, try Avon Lighten Up, it is a cream that really helps. It helped to get rid of what was left. Karen

My girl has had chemotherapy and lost
her hair. She wants to know if there
is any product that can keep her scalp
from being so dry and promote the
new hair growth. Her new hair is coming
in already but her scalp is flakey.
Is there any shampoo or conditioner
she should use now? Or any other
product?   Thank's   Ron Suhr

Sarah:

To be honest, there are no cosmetic treatments worth doing for dark circles under the eyes.  In my experience, lasers and chemical peels have failed, and I would not recommend them.  Hiding them as best you can with makeup is really all you can do.  If necessary, you may want to consult a makeup expert to get advice on doing this artfully.

Best.
