Doctor - since my post I have seen some improvement in the discoloration although it is still there. however since then, over the past week or so I have noticed a burning sensation around the underside of my penis by the head, on thr right side (same side as lesion, built on tr underside not the top). It's somewhat constant and not a sharp pain but midly uncomfortable. I notice it when sitting or sometimes when walking. There is no redness in this area and the skin looks normal. Do you think this has to do with the trauma from two months ago? Why would I be feeling this now? I have also been diagnosed with mild prostatitis - not sure if there would be any connection there. Please advise.
Give your penis a rest and quit masturbating for awhile.
Thanks doctor. I am just a bit confused as I am not doing anything differently than I have for all my life when masturbating, so why is it creating issues all of a sudden? I have never had this issue brfore. Could it all bee related to the episode of vigorous sex? do you recommend applying anything to the lesion? I am using eucerin on a daily basis.
Dear Nickname2000,
Thanks for your query.
Going by your exhaustive history and taking into consideration the relation of your symptoms to intercourse and masturbation, I am quite sure that you are not suffering from any sort of a sexually transmitted disease.
The vigorous force that you have been using during sexual intercourse and masturbation has led to this trauma and the dark colour is nothing else but is purely post inflammatory (after an episode of inflammation) hyperpigmentation (increase in the pigmentation) which occurs after any kind of trauma. In this case, it was due to the push and pull of the activity.
Your skin seems to be delicate for the force you use during a sexual activity and hence breaks open frequently.
The red irritated area is due to the trauma that you have experienced. It is normal for an area next to a hyperpigmented area to look a little lighter. You don't need to worry about that.
Just be a little gentle and the next time around, you wouldn't have a problem. There is no need to worry and the dark colour will fade away in due course without any sequel.
Hope I have answered your query.

Still concerned, I went to the dermatologist again. He confirmed this wasn’t anything to worry about and advised me to apply Eurocin and let it heal.
Its been another week and the lesion hasn’t healed. The original small circular red area of broken skin now looks like a more diffuse (still small) irritated area, again just below the glans. Directly above this on the crown of the glans, the skin is a darker color then the rest of the crown, a dark red. Again it’s a relatively small area, maybe half an inch if that. To the right of this darker area on the crown, it looks like a small area that is actually lighter/whiter the rest of the crown. This white area didn’t seem to be as noticeable before.
The area is not painful, itchy or sensitive to the touch. I do however sometimes feel sensitivity if the area is brushing up again my underwear; I’m not sure if some of this anxiety related or not.
What could lesion be? Is the discoloration on the glans related to the irrated area/broken skin below it? What about the area next to the dark area on the glans that now looks more white than the rest of the crown? Why hasn’t this lesion healed (its been 3 and a half weeks)? Will this dark mark go away on its own? What about the red irritated area?
