dry cracked lips and corners of mouth

For 2 months I have suffered with dry cracked lips, redness in corners of mouth. Moisture tends to collect in corners of mouth. I feel like if I smile my mouth is stretching. I am constantally wiping the moisture out of the corners of my mouth. My lips have a burning sensation inside and out. Mouthwash sets me on fire, but just the anterior portion of my mouth. I have tried many kinds of chapstick. The redness in the corners of my mouth is spreading. It is very embarassing. I thought maybe it was a yeast infection, but i used nystation oral suspension and took 2 diflucan, one week apart without relief. PLEASE HELP.

I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be due to angular cheilitis. It is an inflammatory lesion at the labial commissure, or corner of the mouth, and often occurs bilaterally.

Apply petroleum jelly r aloe vera gel generously at bedtime or a topical athlete’s foot cream. If the symptoms persist then topical Nystatin may need to be applied.I would advise consultation of a dermatologist in that case.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
