dry skin and acne

Since reaching my mid 30's my skin has been a wreck. I have dry skin that is sensitive and whenever I use moisturizers they break me out even when they say it doesn't clog pores. So I am constantly trying to battle acne with products that dry and moisturizers that break me out. I just can't seem to get the right routine for my skin type...please HELP!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
It can be due to adult acne. Just keep you face clean by washing with a mild soap atleast twice a day. Pat it dry and do not rub it. Avoid picking or pressing the acne. You can also use Benzoyl peroxide 5% lotion or gel once at bedtime. An amount of lotion the size of a pea should be enough to cover most of your face. If your skin becomes red or peels, you are using too much of the medicine or applying it too often. If the symptoms persist then please get it evaluated from a dermatologist and get rosacea and cysts ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.

try eating oatmeal and cut out sugar...I started eating oatmeal and my skin cleared very nicely. I have hormonal acne, I don't use any topical medication as it is b.s.! I can tell you one thing, if you are over 30 and still have acne...there is probably a hormonal imbalance. Think about balancing youself from within. Diet and excersize increase my blood circulation and improve my skin drastically. I've noticed that after I cut out grease, fat and complex carbs and start excersizing, my full blown acne goes away and only resurfaces after menstrual cycle, but even that...not nearly severe as before, I would not even have one spot that was not painful to touch on my face. If you want a moisturizer...please don't look for store products go online i.e. youtube and lookup masks with cucumber, oatmeal and yogurt masks...you will be surprised how these natural remedies will sooth and moisturize your skin, oatmeal is great for inflamated skin...really great benefits inside out...i hate the taste of oatmeal so I add parmasean cheese, just a little for the taste....best of luck!
