dry skin

hello doctor , i had dry skin on my fingers mostly on the thumb,index, and its started befor 3 years ,and i went to doctor ,he gave me topical steroid and another cream.......no response.
i went to another dr he gave me cold cream and no response,,,,, and i dont know what's the problem..plz help me ,and prescrib to me som drugs?

Hi,

This could be due to either allergy to soaps or due to skin hypersensitivity as you get the symptoms after you wash your hands.

You should try to use non dring liquid soaps and apply a moisturizer immediately afterwards.

You need to drink plenty of water and keep the areas well moisturised. Eat a healthy balanced diet and apply calamine lotion.

If your symptoms persist it would be best to consult a skin specialist because nothing can be said with surety without a proper clinical examination.

my age 22 , student and i use cold cream for dryness,and i dont have allergy to any substance,and when i use cold cream ,the symptoms relieve ,but it appear when washing hand  .....
