fingers get blistery

When I was pregnant with my first daughter I wore this sterling silver ring but right after I had her my finger started breaking out in blisters. It hurts and itches very badly. Sometimes I feel like ripping my skin off lol. But ever since then which was almost 2 years ago. It comes and goes every couple weeks. I have been given medication for it. It helps for the moment but as soon as I stop using the cream it comes right back. What ever is wrong with my finger I dont know but it is ruining my nail group and my skin almost looks scared or something from it. It started off whith my right hand ring finger now it has spreaded to also my index finger and my middle finger.

Please let me know what this could be? And what I need to do.

sincerely.

Debbie

I have a Nickel allergy, which causes my skin to itch crack and peel when I wear rings. The weird thing is some parts of my body aren't effected and some are. If I wear earrings my ears itch depending on the quality of jewelry I wear. Yet I have multiple piercings and for some reason my nose, and lip are not affected, however my belly button is affected. Even gold will bother me. A doctor told me to try Titanium and it seems to be the only affordable metal I can wear. Nickel is what makes metals hard so really theres no escaping this allergy, just simply go with a metal that has less nickel in it. If I were you I'd get a second opinion and make sure it is noted some where if you are allergic to nickel (which I'm 75% sure you are), because surgical steel bothers the heck outta my skin and if you were in a accident and they had to, for some reason put it in you're body, it could possibly cause a world of symptoms and who knows if they could ever figure it out. Hope this tid-bit helped,
Take care.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
The symptoms are suggestive of dyshidrotic eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.

For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide).

Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.

If still the symptoms do not improve then please get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist.

I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
