Penile sore

About four weeks ago I noticed a large, really blood-red sore on the shaft of my penis about two thirds of the way up. It was about a half inch wide and was raised like a pimple except harder. It didn't hurt and wouldn't budge when I squeezed it either, and it had no pus or whitehead on it. It finally receded without changing color, leaving a small scar. Stds are out since I have had no sexual activity in nine months or so, but this is bothering me as I can find no reference to this type of thing anywhere, and I don't want it to reoccur. Could it be from broken skin during masturbation or a zipper injury getting infected, ot do you have another explanation for this?

Similar issue but slightly different.  Mine is actually before the base of the shaft.  It has been there for about 2-3 months now (at least since I noticed it).  The only person I have ever been with is my wife of 3+ years and I am the only one she has been with.  Before I go to the doctor I was wondering what it may be?  It is of reddish/purplish tint hard and not a pimple.

No, it doesn't sound anything like herpes.

If it happens again, show it to someone.

When you get a sudden onset of a red spot, and it goes away, it's almost always from trauma of some sort.  masturbation and zipper accidents both fit the bill.  I'd forget about it.

Best.

Hi there. Sorry to hear about this problem you are having with your....region. I have a bit of knowledge for you about this. First of all, an STD is a possibility. Although you have been sex-free for over 9 months, it doesn't mean you are free of STD's. Sometimes it takes anywhere from 2-4 years for a person to get any sign of an STD. The description you listed sounds very similar to all of the effects of herpes. I wish I had better advice, but in this case all I know to tell you is to go to the doctor. This could be very serious. Another thing, make a list of the people you have had sexual encounters with and give it to your doctor. Perhaps you can get those people tested in case you have given or received herpes from or to them. You never know though, there are many possibilities to what is going on down south. Hope I have helped you some! Good luck!
