Hi dear Dr and Friends, I had an inguinal hernia repair on August 10 2018 but I also got scrotal haematoma swelling, I went back to the surgeon but they just gave me pain relievers and told me to wait for it to resolve on its own. Any advice please because its painful.
Sounds like it's worth a phone call to the doctor to let the know you are still in pain and it's not resolving on it's own.  So sorry you are in pain right now- let us know how it goes with your doctor!

Hello,
You can wait for the time that your surgeon has advised. Application of warm compresses, mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a surgeon.

I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

Hello,
Sometimes we can find hematoma after inguinal hernia surgery. a hematoma is a collection of blood outside of a blood vessel. This hematoma needs to be drained as it might undergo calcification and then may be more troublesome. I suggest you to consult your operating surgeon and get it drained.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
