herpes or poison ivy

i am out in the woods alot and i think recently i got poison ivy on my penis it itched and there were little red bumps NO BLISTERS or ooozing of anything or any painful urnination.  Then i decided the cream wasnt getting their and shaved my genital region.  Now i have several bumps that are kind of tender and a red rash.  I have put cream on my genitals for the past several days and the poison ivy and itching have stopped on my penis.  I just want to know i dont have herpes do i?  alos my groin kinda hurts on the left side of my body near the groin aread in the pelvis region but the other side doesnt.  i had not done setups for a few weeks until a couple days ago i did them with weights and i did my legexercises yester day could the soreness be attributed to that as well?  i think i am just over reacting about having herpes but i just wanted to here your thoughts.

You should consider seeing a doctor...I don't think anyone can make a diagnosis, or rule out herpes or many other possibilities, based on the information that you just provided above.

Hello,
The red non itchy bumps can be due to folliculitis which have appeared after shaving the area. The itchy bumps sound like irritant contact dermatitis. The groin pain has nothing to do with your skin condition and sound like due to excessive exercise. Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
