I had hives, I dont know if it is the same case as yours, but all over my body, whte bumps, soft to the touch, but itchy... they went away with oral steroids.
a week later, my doctor told me I had shingles from the stress of the hives.
It is sooooooooooooooooooo... painful.
so try not to stress out.
shingles is just another form of chicken pox.
Hello,
The most likely triggers for acute urticaria(hives) are allergies to pets, horses, latex and foods, such as shellfish and nuts, bee or wasp stings, allergies to medicines, viral infections, dental and sinus infections, fungal infections, blood transfusions and vaccines.
The cause of chronic urticaria is often more difficult to identify. Most cases are called chronic idiopathic urticaria, which means they're caused by the body's unexplainable development of antibodies to itself (auto-antibodies).
Take some oral antihistaminics like Benadryl (cause drowsiness) or Claritin and apply calamine lotion as it helps in soothing the skin. You can also apply a mild steroid cream and if the symptoms persist then consult a dermatologist as oral steroids may be needed.
I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
