no there is no itching, no scales, and it does not increase in size. It's not bigger the 1/4 to 3/4 of an inch, about 1/4 inch in width, in the middle is lighter skin that the rest of the shaft, and it is outline by darker skin tones on both sides of the lighter skin, almost a bruced color like. When the penis is erect, it alot less noticeable. Earlier in the year, the same thing happen but it went away in a week or so, and this time it has been there for a month and don't know what to do about it. Is it worth worrying about? I seen my doctor, and he said it was nothing. He did not say wether it will go away or that it may be permanent perhaps to skin pigmentation.
I don't have any symptons of any sort. Should i be worry?
Thanks.

Hi
Is this patch of skin itchy?
Does it increase in size? Are there scales?
This may be a case of dermatitis. Fungal infections may not be ruled out yet. Other differentials will be lichen planus which may present with some elevated plaques with whitish lines over them. These skin conditions however are itchy. "Lichen planus is a fairly common, itchy, non-infectious type of rash that usually occurs in adults. The origin of the term ‘lichen planus’ is obscure. Lichen is a type of plant that lives on rocks, and its surface is made up of small groups of bumps that may look a bit like those seen in lichen planus. ‘Planus’ means ‘flat’, and tells us that the small itchy bumps that make up the rash of lichen planus have shiny flat tops."

Lichen planus may be treated with steroid creams or UV therapy. Discuss this with your doctor as this is one differential for your case.
