The only way to relieve the constant itching is holding an ice cold can of soda. Or anything cold. Also holding a hot cup of tea helps. Scratching is useless. I has to do with the nerve ends inside the palm of your hand (in my case just in one spot, under my pinky.)
Somehow they keep firing. No clue what causes those nerve ends to go haywire, but it's nothing externally that causes it.
I've had it for years, just in one hand, not hormone, or food related.
Again, most soothing remedie is holding a glass of ice water, or anything that drastically changes the temperature in your hand. It seems to quite those nerve ends.
I have had itchy dry palms for over a year and I have been told that it was stress eczema. I have been on medication for pain and that pain has lead to stress and depression I have seen at least 4 Docs. and it keeps coming back. Balms and butters help dryness and sometimes an anti hist. may help with itch. We live stress full lives and don't eat and sleep right. I hope you get some relief and try to de stress once in a while.

I am not sure if this will help any of you but - my father used rose water and glycerin mixture on his skin irritations and it seemed to work so I decided to try it on my dry skin and it does seem to be helping alot. Cheap enough to try anyway. YOu can purchase both at drug stores but you may have to ask for help finding it. mix them together (equal parts of each) and apply whenever you feel like it. I usually use mine mainly at night before bed but sometimes I use it during the day.
I've had this itching, for some years now. It's an INTENSE itch on the palms, feet, now, bottom of legs. I itch and it leaves scabs. It can burn, and it looks like hives under the surface of epidermis. I can't find any such symptoms, I take Cymbalta, have thyroid disease which is treated with Armour Thyroid (90 mg); I take Vytorin 10/40. Maybe we can find a commonality in medications we're taking. It is maddening and embarrasing. When I'm hot, sweaty after a hot bath it's worse. I've looked into some form of excema. But don't want to just start taking steroids - they're powerful and can be destructive. I've also got a bit of arthritis I'm a 55 year old female.
Did you get this sorted out my wife now has the same condition
I am suddenly suffering from the same itchy palm that some of you are describing (mine is the left only). There are tiny blisters there for about 45 minutes or so- they go away, and then come back in a few days. For about six months I have also experienced isolated itchy spots on my body- legs and hands mostly. There seems to be no explanation - no bugs, no fleas- nothing that I can see with my eyes. Now I wonder if this itchy palm is connected to that (?). I have also experienced itchiness in the genital area I'm mortified to admit- flaky skin and intense itching. No medicine has solved that either. My doctors don't know anything about either ailment. Now this. I'm feeling overwhelmed and I have lost faith in my doctors. Does anyone else have these other symtoms as well as the itchy palms? Very Upset. :)
I have had the same thing happen every time I get sick. I had gotten some ointment from the doctor for it once he said it was fungal. It takes a while but it usually goes away with the ointment. I have it right now and I thought it was going away because it wasn't itching anymore and had appeared to decrease in size but I woke up today with it itchy and red again. I only get it on one palm and this time when it started I had expected it because I was sick and thats when I get it so I put the ointment on right away and then a huge blister appeared. Looked really wierd. Please let me know if you find anything out. I'll let you know if I do.
