update...After doing a little searching, I may have found somthing. I noticed a picture somewhere and description that sounded like it. Maybe Folliculitis? I noticed there is somthing called "hot tub folliculitis, is that correct? It said somthing about hot tub or possibly pool water with little or no chlorine, and bacteria or somthing......I have remembered somthing interesting. I live in the county, and I have well water. I am not for sure if it is a "living" well or not...we are renting to own. We have one of those "salt pill" softener machines( I really am just learning about these). Nobody has had any problems but me. I sat up one of those inflatable ring "self standing" intex pools a couple of weeks ago. It is of course, well water coming out of a outside faucet, untreated. I have been throwing in those chlorine tablets as usual.....BUT, when I was doing that a few weeks ago, I was in shorts and barefoot. I got grass clippings on my legs and feet.....and used the hose to wash off clippings. Once I may have pulled the hose out of the pool and rinsed off my legs....this sounds pretty interesting. Could, or DOES well water possibly have bacteria or germs that could cause somthing like folliculitis? Or even maybe when I used a hose that had been in the pool. My kids have used the pool...and nothing on them from swimming. But, I had trown in a tablet. I wonder if I should have sombody test my well water......
I forgot to mention...the bumps are almost like when you get "goose bumps" They are not big, or "raised" areas
Creams don't seem to help..just help witth itch relief. They have spread, I have some up around both knee caps and some here and there around the front of my calves. I do think this is somthing more than bug bites or a rash.
I am wondering if this could have somthing to do with poor circulation or somthing. I have to admit I'm 5'10 and about 260#. So I am overweight. I tend to stay up at the computer at night for hours.....and I am wondering about blood circulation..or some type of infection.
I would have thought the triple antibiotic(?) would be the best. I am going to check out Wally-world tomorrow...
Yeah, I do not have any medical at this time..we are getting ready to buy a store, and we will get some type of group coverage for us as well as the employees. As stupid as it sounds, money is too tight right now..so I could even get any insurance until then. That cobra between jobs..is *****************!!!!!!!! I live by Boonville Missouri.
It sounds like you're using quite a lot of things any not knowing if they're helping; they could possibly be hurting even.
I know you said you don't have insurance, but is there a clinic of some sort close to you? Where do you live? Maybe we could help search for a doctor near you that works on a sliding scale.
I have pretty much stuck with shorts and no socks most of this summer...cannot remember when I wore jeans last....so I doubt it's heat related, and non allergenic. I was hoping maybe walmart had somthing over the counter for this. I have been using pink calmine lotion, triple antibiotic cream, as well as some peroxide in case I needed to kill somthing.
I wondered about chiggers...BUT the small, red, itchy, raised bumps...turned into a red rash on the front of one ankle...I guess from itching. If it was bug bites...I doubt it would have spread into a rash. I think my shoes are okay, no problems there. I do have a bad habit of staying up all night at the computer and falling asleep for maybe 3-4 hrs in the chair sometimes. Some times when this happens..I wake up and my feet are swollen and sore(feeling like they are asleep)..I hobble around for a little while. I have to admit it used to be kinda funny..but the pain is a bit much sometimes when I do that. I worked at a factory for 10 years, wearing rubber boots standing on concrete....my feet used to hurt somthing fierce back then. I tried boot inserts, but those only last so long anyway. I left there about a month ago...and am waiting for a SBA loan to buy a grocery store...so I have not done MUCH for the last month or so..... My mother and father both have/had diabetes. Could this be somthing with blood sugar level?.......I was wondering if there is a problem having to do with all of the times I fell asleep and woke with pain and swelling. I had a friend who knew somedoy that always fell asleep sitting up or at a desk...he had problems with the swelling and pain...didn't do anything or even stop...and he ended up with major foot problems pretty much in a bed all of the time now.....
Could be chiggers. Do a google image search for chiggers and see if it looks like what you have.
Hi,
Ankle rash could be caused due to various reasons including - dermatitis, dry skin, eczema, heat rash or sweat dermatitis, uncomfortable footwear, etc.
It is important to wear lose comfortable footwear and maintain good personal hygiene. Use a powder to avoid sweat collection and apply calamine lotion at the sites of the lesion.
You could take oral antihistamine or antiallergic medications for the itching. Apply calamine lotion at the sites.
You would probably need antibacterial and antifungal local application medications and a course of antibiotics if the lesion does not resolve.
Consult your doctor for a clinical examination. Do get your blood sugar checked too.
Let us know about how you are doing and if you have any other doubts.
Regards.
