my girlfriend has dark red spots on her toe, it is spreading, it does not burn, it is swollen and throbbing, when pressure is applied it turns slightly purple. please help.

i don't know if this helps, but the bumps look like pimples without holes for the pus. the skin is also not dry or itchy.

From the symptoms vascular causes like Raynaud’s phenomenon need to be ruled out. Raynaud’s disease is a vascular disorder that affects blood flow to the extremities which include the fingers, toes, nose and ears when exposed to temperature changes or stress. This causes blueness and swelling of the skin.

I feel that a consultation of a physician will be the best. Other causes like Kaposi’s sarcoma also has to be ruled out. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
