Small pimple with white head in the pubic hair area.

Hi Doctor, I'm very worried ... I'm a 31 years old man. Last night I discovered a small pimple at my pubic hair area above the penis. It was painful (like acne which I often get on my face). This morning it poped and the white stuff came out. Since then the pian is more or less gone. But I am wrried if it is an STD ? Can it be herpes or genital wrats ? I have not been sexually active for quite some time (about 8 months now). But I have had sex with men before. No risky behavior, but had oral sex and got rimmed many times. But last 8 months I have not met any anyone. I got tested for HIV, Syphilis, Gonorrhea and Chlamydia two months back and they all came negative (that was a big relif). But then this happened last night !!! What surprises me is, I found the small pimple last night and it poped this morning ! I have never had any thing like this in my genital area before. Please help, I'm worried like hell ! Thanks a bunch.

Pimples are painful, warts are not.  Pimples have white stuff come out, warts and herpes do not.  I think you should leave the spot alone, out some bacitracin or neosporin on it, and forget about it.  Pimples and blocked pores are common in the groin from sweating, etc.

Best.

Try not to worry much until the doctor answers you. Since you have not had sex for so long and since there was only one pimple, I would think that is exactly what it was. Pimple or a blocked pore that came to a head. Read some of the other responses to your type of question in this forum and I think you will find that herpes does not show up as one isolated pimple and its characteristics are very different from the one pimple you saw. I bet the doctor has reassuring news for you. :)

I am sure he will. I tend to worry about all of these little things  too. Way too much. I try to tell myself "this too shall pass" and so far it always has. Unfortunately here in the US we are so preoccupied with health (though we do little to make sure everyone has access to good health care). Cannot even watch 30 minutes of TV without hearing of two or three times about a test we must take or we will die, a medicine that we have to ask our doctors if we need, and on and on. Even though I am a guy, with all of this health overload I am surprised I am not worrying that I will get ovarian cancer. Of course knowledge is a good thing, but too much of it over and over can create unnecessary stress to highly suggestable people. In any case, I am pretty sure the doctor will be able to reassure you! :)
