purpose of Aquaphor

I recently had two precancerous lesions and one angioma removed and my dermatologist recommends putting a thin layer of Aquaphor on the wounds once a day. What is it supposed to do for the wounds?

For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
