No..no biopsy...they just examine it and give me creams.

i think i should try another fungal cream before going to the dermotologist again

Has a skin biopsy been done?  It may be something to ask the dermatologist about.

If it was an allergic infection, antibiotics should have helped.  I would think.

I would get another opinion from a different dermatologist unless you are satisfied with your current one; and see what tests could be done to help determine if it is infection.  I would want to rule that out first.

Since you are having pain with the rash, I would be sure to update the dermatologist and see what they have to say about it.

Psoriases is usually characterized by rounded erythematous, dry, scaling patches and can have crusty lesions.

Many thanks for the reply...

One of the dermotologist said it was Lichen planus, while the other was not sure if it is LP or psoriases...I went through the pictures of shingles , I dont think its that..

The weired thing abt my problem is that its been there for such a long time, without spreading..I really dont know, i have been searching these website for a while now, but my infection doesnt fit to any catogory..

I never had chicken pox..

I was thinking if it might be an allegric infection?? I dont know if an allergy can make such a pronounce rash..

Did the dermatologist give you any answer as to what the rash is and/or what is causing it?

There are so many different things that it could be is why I ask.

If you haven't received a straight answer from your dermatologist on what it is, I would ask.

It sounds like it could be a fungal infection.

I have had success treating fungal infections using this method:

I would try ZNP soap bar use daily for 2 weeks and Lamisil AT cream or spray daily for 2 weeks.  Then, once a week after that initial treatment.  It may take 4-6 weeks for the rash to completely go away.  If it comes back, start the 2 week treatment over.

Have you had or been exposed to chicken pox?  It could also be shingles.  Since you are having a lot of pain with it, I would suspect shingles and want to rule it out.

Hello,

Have you seen a doctor or dermatologist?

I would see one as soon as you can.
