I have been diagnosed with  jock itch since september 4th, I have  had  an exposure to someone who is hsv 2 positive on the 24th...I have had no symptoms of  fever, swollen lymph nodes, but i have had podrome like symptoms.. itchy opening  to my penis, tingling, leg pain, swollen testicles) I have  taken a  blood test(igg herpes 2select   ab) six  weeks out and my results were (..016)  I also did the  full std panel  including the urine tested  all of results came back negative.my doctor thinks that I have  a bladder infection  and  has given me  cipro, this has helped with urinating  but i feel itchness when  I ejaculate and the burning is slight , the one things that  i did notice is that  the  cipro seems to have helped with the  jock  is...is this  baterial? I know that  I have to wait a few more months for another test..igg test herpesselect but  I am still having symptoms that have extended  beyond the  2-3 week range. I am still getting  the itchyness. I ahve seen  my doctor and another who have told me that  it is  jock itch..they  said that  there is  nothing  that  even resembles herpes and does not respondthe same  way . is jock itch tranferable?

I do not have  any foreskin and it seems as if   the anti biotic has gotten my skin back to normal.. but iam still experiencing  pain and  pressure in my scrotum. the skin on the head of my penis   itches  but  there is no bumps or lesions  appearing.  i am retesting soon  but I heard that   outbreaks do not persist for this  long  and there is nothing to culture!  what should i do now?

Hello,
I cannot confirm anything without examination but balanitis has to be ruled out in your case. Oral course of antibiotics is needed.In addition,pls don’t use any cosmetics on the penis, instead use some topical antimicrobials like Bacitracin or Lotrimin. Also corticosteroids and topical immunosuppressants can be used but they are available under prescription. Also retract the foreskin daily and soak in warm water to clean penis and foreskin. In case the symptoms persist then please consult a urologist/dermatologist for evaluation and antimicrobials and steroids prescription.
