recurring scalp infection with white gluey pus

Hello,
I have been having a consistent scalp infection for 2+ years. I think it is folliculitis. I was prescribed by physician Amoxicillin Clavulanate 625 mg 1 tab thrice daily + Linezolid  600 mg 1 tab twice daily along with B-complex cap for 7-10 days.
I took the medication for 7 days and all the infection seemed to disappear. But after 2 weeks of finishing my medication, the infection seems to re-occur.

Please advise.

Hello,
It looks like folliculitis skin. Since it has come back after stopping treatment, it menas that the cause is recurrent which may be due to inadequate treatment or constant contact with the source of infection. Wash all combs and towels, pillows in hot water and then use them. The scalp should be washed with a mild normal shampoo as often as desired. Antidandruff shampoos containing antifungal agents such as ketoconazole or ciclopirox are sometimes helpful. Apart from that you need topical and oral antibiotics, antihistamines, oral steroids and topical tretinoin.

My sincere advice is to get it reviewed from a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. I think you should  get  your blood sugar test done,fbs //post prandial sugar / tlc /dlc/esr . Don’t use oils & creams for hair , take two baths daily , use a good hair shampoo and review with your dermatologist.
