red and sore penis

i have a very red and sore penis right on the end i have had full sexual health check everything clear  i was giving hydrocortisone cream to put directly onto penis by doctor but has made no difference and i think its made the irratation worse!!!i am now getting irritated testicles aswell very itchy but it is my penis im mostly worried about..this all started 2 months ago from thrush from my wife which i was treated for with the usaul creams and tablet took it away but left very red opening of my penis.i defanaitly do not have thrush or any other infection as i have just been tested in last few days????

I would also recommend the use of a penis health creme with antibacterial vitamin A, as well as soothing Shea butter.

i have done everything advised to do i have been on a week of oral antibiotic along with a steriod cream which was prescribed by my doc but has made no differencs what so ever!my symptoms seem to be intensifying the whole head and opening of my penis feels red raw and feels very hot im starting to get seriously worried!!!!!!!!!!QUESTION!!! when i got my tests done ie BLOOD URINE AND SWABS would anything majorly serious have been found?????????????????????????????????????could this just be a skin condition??????

Hello,
As advised earlier, wash the penis with water and Cetaphil and then apply some calamine lotion. You can also apply steroid creams but they are available under prescription. Wear cotton underwears and change them twice daily. Also check out if you are using latex condoms as allergy to latex also causes such symptoms.

hi thanks for your reply i have made an app with the urology department but there next app is not til 7 weeks my symptoms are still the same still very red inflammed tip of penis and v iritated i am not in any pain or itchy but feel there is something definately not right!is there anything u can advise me to do shall i go back to my local doctor and see if he can prescribe me with!!!!!!please help im gettin extremely worried and depressed about this situation the other thing is that it seems to be a lot more aggrivated after sex but calms down a little after few days

From the symptoms that you have mentioned, I would like to rule out contact dermatitis and balanitis of the penis. It is inflammation of the glans penis. Oral course of antibiotics is needed. In addition, please don’t use any cosmetics on the penis, instead use some topical antimicrobials like Bacitracin or Lotrimin. Also corticosteroids and topical immunosuppressants can be used but they are available under prescription. Also retract the foreskin daily and soak in warm water to clean penis and foreskin. In case the symptoms persist then please consult a urologist/dermatologist for evaluation and antimicrobials and steroids prescription.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
