I have red splotches on lower part of legs and on bottom of feet and below ankles they don't hurt I just don't know where they came from
I have nothing to add.

Systemic illnesses like leukemia or lupus, would they normally have petechiae on the feet or would it be spread out all over the body, like mostly on the trunk? The things I read about petechiae make it sound very serious.
Yes, they do sound like petechiae (flat red spots.) As for trauma, people almost never remember it, unless it's very dramatic. All it takes is one misstep that goes by without notice....

sorry to be such a pain posting too many questions and comments, but I went to ask.com and typed in petechiae and clicked on pictures instead of web and the other choices for the search and it came up with a lot of pictures of it. I can honestly say 1)mine were never that dark or vibrant or screaming loud as all the pictures revealed that I have found on ask.com and 2)mine weren't that many...certainly I have some clusters, but oddly to say it looks very mild compared to what I have seen online. Of course mine keep on fading, which I am glad for, but still they never looked as bad as what I have seen.
My question is: is that a good sign????
Thank you very much for your advice.
Thank you, Dr. Rockoff, for your help. I have questions about your response. Is it possible to have trauma happen and not know about it? I didn't feel anything happen to me while I was at the gym. Could the blood vessels just leak like that because I pushed to hard on the excercise bike or maybe lifted weights and oved the wrong way? Also, what I mentioned about the spots, do they seem to describe petechiae?
I would guess that these came from trauma in the gym. Systemic issues would cause such spots to appear all over the body. I advise you to watch them for a couple of weeks. If they're still there, or if they spread in the interim, let a doctor take a look.
Best.
