ringworm?

Me and my kids keep getting all of these bumps, which start off as a bump, almost like a pimple.  With the white head and all, then later on that day, maybe hours later, that bump seems to be like still the same bump with 2 little white heads now, then 3 then it's like a bunch of little white heads on 1 flat bump.  I thought this was ringworm, but jeez i keep my stuff extremely clean, seems impossible.  So now i'm noticing theres one on my arm, forearm, side of my stomach it comes on my leg (and one in an unmentionable place)  I'm not understanding what this is, my kids keep on getting these infestations on their body also.  When i take them to the dr's office they instantly say "ringworm", but something about this just doesn't seem right!  does it seem like it maybe bedbugs?  They leave a dark mark on my body for about 3-4 weeks, which is the most agrivating 4 weeks, trying to constantly hide me and my kids spots, ethier actively swolen or healed.......................any suggestions PLEASE!  My daughter is now broken out into a bunch of these bumps, and i'm so terrified that she's going to have a bunch of miscellaneous gross looking bumps on her....help asap

Hi

I do understand how discomforting this is for you. Based on your description of the bumps, these sound like a fungal infection. Another thing to consider here is a bacterial infection. Folliculitis may be a differential .This is likely contagious given that several family members have similar skin condition. I suggest that you have the discharge cultured so as to ascertain the likely organism which may be causing this. A fungal infection is  a differential because of the extent of the spread and the circular pattern (is this correct?)

You may have to wash your laundry separately and do not share towels. Disinfect toys, doorknobs and telephones. Keep affected areas covered and refrain from touching the areas unnecessarily. You may need oral antibiotics for this.

oh yeah, and i forgot to add that when the bumps do heal they heal as like a shiny spot of darker skin, like the spot is now a leathery little splotch, this is rediculous!
