scabies?

I was sure I had scabies about a a month ago when my girlfriend started itching(more like 2 months for her) Little bumps would form behind calves under rib cage arms and above the butt. And I also stated getting red bumps on my penis and scrotum. It itched so much it was painful sometimes. So We started using neem oils and tee tree oils.We also started applying turmeric powder mixed with cucumber juice and at one point it seemed like we were both cured. The lumps on my genitalia started to go down for a few days. then it came back to her and it came back to me a day later. We continued the treatment and again it started disappearing but now a couple days later it has returned. both treatment periods we washed all our cloths and sprayed all the carpet with rid spray. If it isn't scabies then what could it possibly be? Now that we continually treat with the above products its not as bad as when we first started experiencing symptoms(it was un bearable sometimes) but the itch keeps coming back and it is annoying and distracting at work and school. we also have a dog that has always had dry itchy skin but im 99% positive she doesn't have any bugs and i read that you cant contract scabies from your pets. please its coming on 3 months of this does anybody have any info?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Since both of you are having it, so scabies is a more likely possibility. It is characterized by intense itching, usually at night and by small insect-type bites lesions on the skin. Diagnosis of scabies is made by scraping the skin and viewing the material under a microscope to see the characteristic mite or eggs.
Permethrin and oral ivermectin are the treatment options of scabies. Sometimes there may be recurrent and chronic cases which may require oral treatment of ivermectin. Also permethrin has to be used head to the bottom of the feet, paying special attention to skin folds and the webs between fingers and toes and this cream has to be left for 10-14 hours. Sometimes itching of scabies persists for a few days after completion of treatment also. So please consult a dermatologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
