scars

I am thirty years old. After Ihad my first baby three years ago,Ihad problems with cystic acne. My baby is now three years old, and I am once again having problems. I got some doxycycline and am hoping that will clear it up;however, I will probably  have a few more scars to add to my face after this outbreak. I am wondering if a thing called a power peel will help the appearance of the scars. I also have large pores and would like to reduce their size. Is there any help?

Tania:

If by scares you mean red or purple marks, they will go away, slowly over a period of months, once the acne stops.  Indentations or pots will not repsond to the so-called power peel.  Laser resurfacing may help the scars a bit, but you would need to wait till after the acne stops.  The power peel may hep refine the pores to some extent, but pores become more prominent after age 25 or so, acne or not.

Best.
