skin tags

A week ago I noticed after a shower that i have a skin tag in my pubic area. I haven't been sexually active for about three months so i thought it cant be stds and it doesnt itch or hurt or burner when i ****. I have been going to the gym alot these past three months and when i do i get pretty bad "swamp ***" or just get really sweaty in that area. I did some research of my own and it looks just like a skin tag but kinda darker in color. Well a put it of for a couple of weeks and i notice that there is more in my pudic. Well any information would help...I'd appreciate it.

hey,

this questions is pretty much the same as mine... i was wondering, when you say sissors for removal.. would you recommend doing it at home with sterilized tools? what are the dangers in this?

thanks,

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL

Hello,
From your description, it looks like a skin tag only. . It is a benign condition and you do not have to worry about it. These tiny skin growths generally cause no symptoms unless they are repeatedly irritated. Treatment options include removing with scissors, freezing (using liquid nitrogen), and burning (using medical electric cautery at the physician's office).
But if they start growing in size or become dark colored, then please get them evaluated for seborrheic keratosis and HPV warts.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing. Warm regards.
