small itchy bumps

Hello i have been with my gf for around 3 months and shes had these small itchy red and skin color bumps which can vary where they dont appear reguarly and when they do is usually in the more sweatier areas of the body inner thighs, near armpits etc. So i thought nothing of it but it seems i have the same thing happening to me now and i have itchy areas around my body mainly my arms and inner thighs but the areas can pop up where ever apart from around my head. The bumps will vary in size and color some are really small little skin color bumps which are really itchy at times and sometimes not. Their is also red little bumps that poped up time to time. Our first thought was scabies so 3 weeks ago we both covered ourself in Dermac-M which is what i was recomended changed bed covers washed towles etc and didnt wear the clothes we had worn for 5 days and we repeated that a week later. 3 weeks on and we are still itchy at times and sometimes not the little red bumps have nearly stopped im not entirely sure as its hard to distinguish new ones to a degree. But after 3 weeks the itching persists im not sure whether is scabies or not and what you would recomend if you also think its scabies. The doctor told my girlfriend that it wasnt scabies but everything points to it.
Thanks

Thanks for your swift reply vannesa um neither of us have had scabies before dermac M seems to work gradually and the bumps seem to occur less and less and itchyness is going and seems like the itchyness is less sever by the day. The lesions/vesicles are only little red bumps that doesnt contain any fluid if picked which i tend to avoid doing as it is.

I will get a full check up with my doctor and see how things progress.

thanks again.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,

If this is scabies, has anyone of you had prior exposure to someone with scabies?

Scabies usually appear as small vesicles (lesions which contain fluid). It has predilection over the buttocks ,thighs and finger webs and may present with severe itchiness.I suggest that a complete examination by your primary physician will be able to help. Microscopic examination of skin scrapings from the vesicles may give the diagnosis.

Other differentials will be a dermatitis with an underlying fungal infection .Folliculitis may also be a differential. Some forms of dermatitis may involve the armpits ,thighs and groin. The itchiness may cause cuts in the skin and may cause the spread of bacterial or fungal infection.A bacterial infection may cause folliculitis .Folliculitis may present with small reddish bumps that involve the hair follicles.

Both  fungal infection and folliculitis are contagious. I suggest that you avoid any direct contact with the lesions until this has been properly assessed and treated. This does not sound like scabies. However, it is best to undergo a complete examination to prevent spread of any infection.
