small white bump under index finger

I have a small bump that developed under my index finger ( on the palm side ), it is positioned just above my highest joint, when it first developed it was very hard to see because it was flesh colored. It has grown more white colored, and gradually more noticable. when i pull my finger back, it is very noticable, as it appears round and white. It is also very flat. It is not really irritating either, it is not itchy. I was thinking it could be a wart, but I am not sure. I have never had a wart before. There are no explicit black dots representing blood vessels. There is no sign of a "cauliflower" either, as it is perfectly smooth. I am exposed to plantar wars daily, as my roommate has it, he picks it a lot, and he never washes his hands, so maybe my finger was somehow infected.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
One of the possibilities that is coming to my mind is of a myxoid cyst. A myxoid cyst is a soft nodule and usually occurs near the end of the fingers or toes.
Treatment is required when they are painful and consists of cortisone injections, liquid nitrogen and surgery(for large ones).I sincerely suggest you to discuss this possibility with a dermatologist. If the bumps are painful, then the possibility of herpetic whitlow has to be ruled out.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
