strethmarks from inner groin down inner thigh

Hi there, I what looks like stretchmarks starting where my scrotum meets my skin and run down each of my inner thighs for about 3 inches. I have two of these "strethmarks" on one side and one on the other. Also, I have recently developed the same type of strethcmarks on each side of my hips.  Many years ago I was told by my doctor that these were stretchmarks but now but they seem like they are growing longer.  They look similar to a thin scar and the skin inside the strethmark is very papery thin looking and they end in a point.

I have been overweight by about 40 pounds for several years while I had these marks and I recently just lost these 40 pounds in a short period. This seems to coincide with them growing longer. Also, I am a very heavy jogger now which is new to my routine this year.

At one time I was worried this was a sexual disease but I have been tested for the gamut of diseases this year to appease my fear.  I am wondering if this could be something other than stretchmarks.  Please help. thanks.

Hey
I have these too.  But in addition to them I also have some pain associated with them.  Now, I have never been overweight but I have a physical job which requires alot of climbing and lifting.  Could this be job related?  I am afraid it could also be more serious than stretch marks--I think it could be cancer I hope not but I think this is a question for an oncologist..

The groin lines do sound like stretch marks, and the hips are a common place for them too.  I'm not sure why you're worrying about them now, but if you see a doctor in person, he or she will be able to tell you that they are, so you can ignore them.  It's quite likely that your weight fluctuation had an effect, which may have lengthened them.

If you have other reasons to be fearful of an STD, such as unsafe sex, please avoid it.  If not, just get yourself checked out and move on.

Take care.
