Fungus

don
I have had what has been diagnosed as a fungus on my anal area and penis.  It seems to occur on the penis after being with my wife but my HMO does not feel that is a problem.  The doctors have basically said to live with it.  They have given me Spectazole 1% which does no good.  I have been given Naftin for a toenail fungus and I have tried that on the areas mentioned above and that helps but does not cure the problem.

Any suggestions?

I have a kind of white little particles that tend to appear at my penis head, it can be washed out and it falls when i rub with my finger. Whith moisture it tends to get togheter. I have 25 years old and i don't know if it's a kind of smegma or a fungus infection.
Thanks for your time.

Don:

Yes!  The rash you describe does not found at all like fungus.  Eczema is much more likely to affect the penis and anus and to be aggravated by intercourse or other sources of friction.  It is not contagious.  My advice is to use one percent hydrocortisone, available over-the-counter, twice a day when the rash is present.  The fact that the rash continually recurs is evidence that in fact there is no fungus or other infection.  That is why Spectazole and other antifungal creams don't help, except to smooth a little bit.

Good luck.
