tiny red bump rash on penis

My boyfriend developed small red bumps on his penis a couple days after we had sex. The bumps have since went away and haven't come back. I have no noticable symptoms of any kind.  He went to the doctor who gave him a hereps culture.  The culture came back negative.  The doctor told my boyfriend it was probably a bacterial infection from me.  What could I have if this is so? Could it be another STD besides herpes?  Could it not even be from me at all and from something unrelated to sex?  My boyfriend is freaked out so I need answers.
THanks

My MD told me that it could be a Candida infection.
How to tread it? He couldn't answer.

Angela:

Don't worry.  Tiny red bumps after sex that go away sound like friction, not an infection, bacterial or viral.  Herpes produces blisters that scab and last 7-10 days.  To read more about herpes, check out New Zealand Dermnet <http://www.dermnet.org.nz/index.html>.

Best.
