I have gestational diabetes. it's really not that big of a deal at all you just monitor what you eat and watch your blood sugar

There must have been a reason for them to test you so early. Did you do a urine test when you went to the doctor? They might have found high levels of glucose in your urine then.

Don't mess with it. If you have gestational diabetes it's not the end of the world. In fact it is for the wellness of your baby and you to know and to act accordingly. If you have diabetes (gestational or type I or type II) you have to do everything you can to keep your sugars in a normal range. High blood sugars (hyperglycemia) can cause abnormal growth and development of baby and of course you want a healthy baby too.

I had to take the 3 hour test as well. In order to pass I heavily cut back on bread and sweets. I also only drunk water. Whenever I'd eat I flushed it out with glasses of water. Hope this helps.

No i thought it was strange they just said that they had just started testing earlier not sure why but I'm worried now because the nurse pretty much said that most likely I do have it

Is there a reason why you got one at eight weeks? They don't typically give that until your 24-28weeks.
