Looking for support groups for Adult Type-1's in The Tucson Area

There are alot of Juvenille support groups and many Type-2 support groups but my wife and I would love to join or even start a support group for adult Type-1's. Something even as small as a meeting between another person to chat about experiences. My wife has had Diabetes for 24 years. Any takers? Any idea's.

I'm new to forums so I apologize in advance if I'm out of place with this post.

Thank You.

The Tucson Pumpers (or the Tucson Pump Club) meets at the CareMore on the northwest corner of Kolb and Speedway the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. I have found that support group to be extremely helpful.

I have just moved to Tucson.  I have been a type 1 diabetic for nearly 50 years and have had a pump for a little over 12.  Were you able to get a group going?  I would be interested in meeting other diabetics and get recommendations for  doctors, etc.

I am not sure what the standing is now with you and your wife since this post is from 2006. I currently live in Tucson, and have had Diabetes for 18 years. I would love to meet with other people, or a couple people for some good conversation and such.

I am not a physician, but a volunteer and the mom of a type 1. I know that our JDRF coffee we have both children and adult type 1 diabetics.  I would suggest you contact your local hospitals too see what they have. I would also check out the following websites to help you be in contact with others.

www.jdrf.org - there is a link to contact your local Tucson chapter they might be able to put you in contact with local groups.

www.childrenwithdiabetes.com- there are several chat rooms, I know that in the parents
