I have had minimed pump for 11 yrs and it works for me.. omnipod isnt cover yet cuz they are still testing it
the mini med pump did not work for me. i had no delivery due to the catheters bending. then i experienced retinopathy and had a vitrectromy, which made me blind for 10 days. my physician wants me back on a pump, but omnipod is not recognized by medicare. therefore i cannot get it despite it being a medical necessity. i'm petitioning medicare tonight.
Hello again! It's called the OmniPod:
http://www.myomnipod.com/
It is covered, as far as I've heard, just like any other pump. You put the site in, then attach the pod over it. It's not a small lump, but it is self-contained. Team Type 1 (http://teamtype1.org/index.html) used them when they won the bicycle Race Across America this summer. I know lots of people on this pump, and they love it.
