What do you think of this kid managing his type 1 with a raw food diet?

He claims he just eats raw fruits and vegetables. No meat. Low fat.

Can this be safe? Don't we need meat?

I'm type two, but I wonder about this kind of thing. I'm thinking about trying his diet for myself.

Raw food diet is healthy in my eyes. We do NOT need to eat meat--we just need protein(and not as much as ppl think)
Greek yougurt (plain and I add fresh fruit and use a little stevia to sweeten) also beans are a good source as well as nuts and seeds
Quinoa(a grain) also a good protein source

Before trying this diet, copy it off and review with your dr.  No we don't need meat but we do need protein which can come from nuts and cheese.  I think you need to discuss the diet because of the fruit and the need for monitoring when you take in less calories with insulin.  It may be a great diet!?
