At what time should I take metformin the day before an glucose tolerance exam?

A year ago my sugar and insulin numbers where too high. My doctor prescribed metformin and told me my numbers should improve if I lost the weight (I was overweight at that time). If I want to do the “glucose tolerance test” again to confirm or discard the possibility of having diabetes, at what time should I take the metformin the day before the test or I shouldn´t take metformin at all the day before?
How long does metformin stay in your body?? I do not want metformin to mask/change my glucose/insulin numbers

No stoppage, I continue with my daily schedule as I do a fasting glucose test and an A1c test. The former every 2 months, the latter every 3 months.

Are testing your glucose with a home meter? What are your glucose levels preprandial [b4 breakfast] and postprandial [2-3 hrs after a meal]? If your levels remain elevated above normal do not stop the Metformin. If you have normal fasting levels [preprandial] and normal postprandial levels notify your doctor of your intentions to stop Metformin 72 hrs prior to the test. Do NOT stop unless your doctor authorizes you to do so.

My preprandial numbers are ok. My postprandial numbers vary.

cookie - I had problems signing in due to badware/malware on my rig. While at a friends I used her username to post the above. Call your doctor and ask what he/she recommends.

Yes, I take metformin after the test. But does that mean I do not take metformin the day before? When is the last time you take metformin before the exam?

Per my PCP, I take my Metformin after my tests. Ask your doctor what he/she prefers.
