Byetta

Has anyone used Byetta? I started taking it four weeks ago and it has done wonders on controling my blood sugars and I have also lost 16 pounds.  My doctor told me that it may help me to drop a few pounds, but I never thought it could help that much. I admit it does make you nausious, but I can take that for the weight loss.

I also take the Byetta now.  My doc started me on it in March and I too immediately began to lose weight.  It also began to regulate my blood sugars, if fact one day my level was so low that the doc reduced one of my meds from 2 pills twice a day to 1 pill twice a day.  I must admit though that when I initially started I had to force myself to eat, whereas I was overeating before.

I have not experienced the nausea which many say comes with this med.  I suppose that could be because I take so very many other meds for my many ailments that the system just takes in whatever I give it.

My only problem now is that some days I take all of my other meds twice but only have the Byetta injection in the morning.  I suppose that is simply because I do not want to eat late and quite frankly just do without it.

All I can say is HURRAY FOR THE WEIGHT LOSS.  If this is what we must do to have that, I'm with you - I can take the med for the weight loss.

What other meds do you take with Byetta?  I know recent warnings on pancreatitus, but this may be something they should try with me.  I cannot take metformin.  Actos made my appetite surge and I gained 20 lbs with combo Actos/Lantus.  I went off Actos but still inject 20 units in evening.  BS fast is 215.  I do not EAT wrong.

I don't take anything with it, only the Byetta twice a day.
