How can I lose weight?

Last year I was diagnosed type 2 with an AIC of 7.9. I'm currently on metformin and glyberide twice a day. My recent AIC was 6.4.  I think if I lost weight weight I could reduce the amount of medication I need  but if I increase my exercise or reduce my oral intake I get very uncomfortable hypoglycemic episodes. My sugars dip into the 30's. This happens several times a week   My post Prakash sugars range from 140 to 220. I'm 175 lbs and feel like I'm "feeding the meds". I'd like to lose some weight.  Now what?

I lost from over 240 to low 160s by limiting carbs per meal to 60. It got to the point where I was concerned about the loss that I was considering posting here how to gain weight. What's your BMI. If It's less than 25, I would be happy.

OK, I have T2 as well.  I weighed 250 and began taking oral meds.  My A1C was over 10 at the start.  I switched from real coke to Coke Zero (my biggest addiction) and went on a high protein/low carb (not NO carb) diet.  I lost to 180 and my AIC is 6.1.  I did NOT exercise.  Should I?  Yes.  Will I?? Probably not.  I no longer take meds and my sugar is good so far.  It has been 4 years and my Dr. is happy.  I knew I could not do the low carb, high protein forever, but got serious and managed to do it for 9 months and lost the wt. during that time.  It changed my eating habits so much, that I am now able to eat pretty much what I want (within reason) and am making better choices.  Just wanted to give you an example of what can be done.  I chose the high protein..because I like mean and knew I needed to cut back on the carbs.
