“If I keep up the good work, do I really need the drug anymore?”
Best answer 'maybe, it's possible' everybody is different.
In March-07 my A1C was 11.1, I was put on metformin 1000 mg, 2 pills a day 1 in the morning and 1 at night. With life style changes, mostly diet and exercise, within a year I brought my A1C down to under 6.5 and have keep it there. Today I take no meds just diet & exercise to control my glucose. I'm not strict on my diet, just watch what I eat and make adjustments when my blood work starts to rise.
Keep up the good work.
What are your BG readings? That will tell you if you need the met or not.
1/2 of a 500 mg pill is next to nothing, that is a very low does. 1/10 of the max does.
its not just sugar, your body converts ALL carbohydrates to sugar.
