Wound Care treatment

A friend of mine has a very bad wound on her lower leg.  She is in a nursing home where they just decided to treat her wound in a bathtub with A-33 cleaner added to the water.  Is this a usual (and/or) acceptable practice for wound care treatment?  I thought you were suppose to go to great lenghts to keep A-33 off of your skin.

While E-33 is indeed bactricidal, it is also corrosive and will cause deterioration of a wound and a chemical burn.

The individual who approved this protocol shoiuld be criminally charged and dismissed.

You have a situation requiring immediate action and intervention.

The use of E-33 for diabetic wound care is not acceptable nursing home practice.

Take your friend to the closest ER and have a real doctor treat your friend's wound. Then report the nursing home to the proper authorities in your area.
