Blood sugar not going down

My doctor has me on lantus 1x a day and novolog 3x a day.. It's only been a day since I started but I haven't seen my numbers go down. For example, this morning after I woke up it was 179 and an hour after breakfast it was 269. Feeling very hopeless at the moment.. Does it take time for this medication to work?

You try banaba leaves. Some are sold in powder form, just dissolve  one table spoon in a hot water by using a cup of coffee and when it becomes cooler just drink it before bedtime and see the result.

Hi,  insulin dosage has to be adjusted.  it is not just you get the right dose the first day.  You need to read up on basal and bolus testing, which is how you adjust the insuylin dose.  Hopefully your dr is also helping you on how to adjust insulin.

I am not on a restricted diet but I have cut out sugary drinks and allow myself to one sweet anything a day. I am supposed to see a dietiantian and endocrinologist as soon as my insurance clears it. I mostly walk for exercise.

Are you on a restricted diet? I'm on a high protein/high fat diet (Atkins revised diet). It's working for me to drop glucose and pounds. I hate working out so I go to low impact classes which are actually fun.
